About time

About time for the things we never had time for...
For the ones we thought we had a plan,
Only to find it was leisure now that mocked from afar...

Or was is the simplicity we missed now...
From the high ship of adulthood we saw,
The oceans that once were teeming with excitement

Waves we longed to surf upon now really did wave...
At us from the shores we now have anchored the ship by,
Waiting for the tide and time to be right

For we now sit making lists and reading listicles...
Sighing at the sights we plan to behold in life,
Of the lanes we wish to walk upon someday

'Wait up for the time is not yet right'
Is the lullaby we now let our ears lull to,
As the calendar sweeps past its mocking pages...

Caught up in our own pursuit of 'ifs' and 'whens'...
For when the numbers will add up
For when the sheets will tally up

For it isn't the dreams we gave up on, at fault...
At fault, are we the one who stopped believing,
In the fairies and the stories of nigh fantasy

About time we find the child smothered
Before time into the shoes of age...
Into a world where numbers rule high

About time for all that you wish...
Now if ever.. is finally
The Time.......
